Meet Sophia: The 17-Year-Old Building a Beauty Brand the Industry Can't Ignore

Most 17-year-olds are figuring out what to wear to school. Sophia Zweegers is figuring out how to scale a beauty brand from Monaco to the world.

If you've followed UNICOSMETICS for any length of time, you already know the name. But the story underneath it is the part we want to share, because it explains why the brand looks, feels, and formulates the way it does.

Sophia started UNICOSMETICS as a teenager who simply could not find what she was looking for. Lip glosses were either sticky and cheap, or luxurious and full of ingredients she didn't want on her lips. The "clean beauty" aisle felt clinical. The luxury aisle felt outdated. The gap was obvious, to her. And then she did something most people twice her age don't do: she built it.

She flew to Italy. She sat in labs. She rejected formulas. She rejected packaging. She tested textures on herself, her friends, and a circle of beauty editors who treated her like a peer because, in a way, she already was one. By the time the first Epic Pout was filled, she had already redrawn the brief: clean, vegan, dermatologist-approved, and genuinely luxurious. No compromise.

What makes Sophia rare isn't the age; it's the taste. Her instinct for what Gen Z actually wants from beauty is sharper than the strategy decks at most legacy houses. Monaco shaped that taste. So did Formula 1 weekends, yacht summers, and a friend group that doesn't separate "getting ready" from "going out." For her, beauty is a lifestyle texture, not a category.

Today, UNICOSMETICS sits in Beauty Angels, Coolbay, Body Tailor, and Monte-Carlo Beach Club. Sophia is still 17. She is also already building the next chapter.

When she's asked what's next, she usually shrugs and smiles. "More," she says. We believe her.
