Cómo convertí mi amor por el brillo labial en una marca

How I Turned my Love for Lipgloss into a Brand

People often ask me when I knew I wanted to create a beauty brand. The truth? There wasn’t a single “aha” moment.  It happened naturally, long before I even knew what entrepreneurship meant.

At ten, I turned my playroom in Monaco into a mini lab.

I pushed aside my toys and filled the space with jars, pigments, and a few too many lip gloss samples. I mixed textures, played with colours, and started selling tiny creations to my friends. I didn’t think I was “building a business.” I was just obsessed with making something beautiful that made people feel confident. It was pure curiosity, and the beginning of a calling.

As I got older, that curiosity became focus. By thirteen, while my friends were scrolling TikTok, I was sending emails to creative agencies, labs, and suppliers. I had no contacts, no investors, just an idea I couldn’t ignore.
I introduced myself simply as Sophia, and people listened. That experience taught me something priceless: when you speak with conviction, people hear potential, not age.

But belief alone doesn’t build a brand. Consistency does.

I quickly learned that passion comes with pressure. Balancing school, creative development, and brand building was intense. Some days felt glamorous, others, impossible.

I faced rejection from people who thought I was too young to be taken seriously. There were late nights, production delays, design changes, and endless moments of doubt.

But every challenge reinforced the same truth: if something keeps calling you back, it’s because it’s meant for you.

Entrepreneurship is romanticized, especially in beauty. What no one tells you is how much resilience it takes, the patience to build slowly, the discipline to stay inspired when things don’t go as planned. There’s beauty in that struggle, too.
Each obstacle shaped the DNA of UNICOSMETICS: clean formulas, timeless design, and a sense of confidence that comes from within.

Building this brand has been the most exciting and humbling experience of my life. I’ve learned that purpose doesn’t wait for permission.

No necesitas tenerlo todo resuelto, solo necesitas empezar. Cada pequeño paso cuenta: un correo, un boceto, una nueva idea, un error que te enseña algo.
That’s how dreams take shape, one decision at a time.

Today, UNICOSMETICS isn’t just about gloss; it’s about a mindset. About showing up as yourself, being bold enough to start early, and brave enough to keep going. I wanted to create products that feel effortless and empowering, but also a brand that reflects my belief that confidence is built, not born.

So, to anyone reading this who feels they’re too young, too inexperienced, or too uncertain — don’t wait. Your vision doesn’t need approval; it needs commitment. Start where you are, with what you have. The timing will never be perfect — but your purpose will always be right on time.
